It’s year three for Ski for the Love, so what’s different? Lots, but also nothing. It’s still the same ski bums. We still Ski For The Love, but we had so much fun showing everyone Home, Sick! we’ve gotta do it again. Emotions can run high in the mountains: navigating dangerous terrain, coordinating shots and zones, nailing your line. Sometimes you love it, sometimes it grinds your gears to a stop 20 miles deep on a glacier. We’ve got Mad Love for all of it and for all of you.
Winter is coming and it's time to celebrate by getting together to see the Backcountry Film Festival which includes multiple films from the Lake Tahoe area. Great venue with food, beer, and a raffle sponsored by Tahoe Mountain Sports.
Celebrate the Holidays in Historic Downtown Truckee! For 50 years, the Truckee Downtown Merchants Association and Truckee Rotary have collaborated to share in honoring Truckee’s community. Every year small trees are trimmed by over 600 local elementary students. The Truckee Rotary provides Santa, hot cocoa, and service, ClickTahoe.com takes photos with Santa, and TDMA provides Holiday Lights throughout downtown Truckee. The night culminates in the lighting of the traditional Bud Fish Tree Lighting Ceremony in remembrance of this beloved Truckee community member.
Please note: Spring & Bridge Street will be closed starting at 4 pm, and free parking will not be available. We encourage public transit to make this celebration more accessible and enjoyable for all.
Soroptimist of Truckee Donner is continuing the tradition of hosting our Soroptishop Holiday Artisan Faire. Start your shopping early for local artwork, jewelry, pottery, clothes, cosmetics, herbals, handcrafts, hand blown glass and much more! Over 50 local and small business artisans participating.

Leave the cooking to us this Thanksgiving! Enjoy a delicious grand buffet with carving stations, holiday side dishes, and desserts. Guests will receive a complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival, and afterwards a full bar will be available for purchase. There will be two separate seating’s: 2:30pm or 5:30pm. Please make your reservations by 11/20.
Celebrate the beginning of Winter in The Village at Palisades Tahoe on Saturday, November 30th. Enjoy a full afternoon of exciting events and activities that will be great for all ages. They will have an unveiling of Forged, an art installation that is a tribute to our mountain community and legacy of excellence in sport. This event is totally free, and all are welcome to join.

Join your neighbors and friends for Tahoe Donner’s annual tree lighting ceremony, featuring a kids craft station, hot cocoa and cider, beer and wine, holiday inspired cocktails, a very special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and more!

Enjoy a special Sip ‘n’ Shop, a Snowflake Scavenger Hunt, holiday carolers, visits with Santa, and a festive selfie station to capture the holiday spirit. Enjoy a festive menu, a great selection of beer and wine and s’mores kits for the kids. The Times Square countdown will be streamed live on the big screen, with the big countdown taking place at 9PM (midnight EST).

Ditch the ski jacket for a collared shirt and khakis: Alpine's Annual Snow Golf Tournament is back for its 39th year! As the only top-to-bottom snow golf course, this highly anticipated spring event is a unique way to spend a day on the slopes with friends and family. The ten-hole course starts at the top of Summit Express chair and meanders its way down the mountain with the last holes bringing competitors to The Chalet for a Caddyshack-themed afterparty.
The 33rd Annual Cushing Crossing is the best event of the spring season. The original pond skimming contest is tentatively scheduled for May 3rd, 2025 at 1pm. Join in on the fun, watch big spills, and share some much-needed laughs with our celebrity judges and 2 of the best emcees around. Costumes are highly encouraged! The awards ceremony will immediately follow the event at Cushing Pond.
Truckee Gravel offers three epic route options, ranging from 30 to over 100 miles, each showcasing the beauty of Truckee and beyond. Kicking off in our mountain town, the race winds north into the rugged expanse of Tahoe National Forest.
Riders will tackle long stretches of well-maintained gravel and dirt roads, with occasional pavement and an exciting touch of singletrack at the finish. The extended long course takes you all the way to Sierraville, with a breathtaking climb to the summit of Yuba Pass.
Located just five minutes from Downtown Truckee on the east end of Donner Lake, Donner Memorial State Park is open year-round and offers weekly, drop-in interpretive programs where you can learn about the natural and cultural history of the Truckee-Tahoe region. In the winter, check out their guided snowshoe tours, and in the summer, they offer guided paddling tours, mountain bike tours, junior ranger programs, historical tours, campfire talks, and park cleanups.

Explore the history of the area and the people who came into this part of the Sierra, including local Native Americans, the Donner Party, and builders of the transcontinental railroad. Visitors can expect to spend about one hour exploring exhibits.
